Introduction: Tundra is the coldest of all the biomes. Tundra comes from the Finnish word tunturi, meaning treeless and plain. Frost molded landscape, poor nutrients, and short growing seasons.The two major nutrients that are present in the the Tundra is nitrogen and phosphorus. There are two types of Tundra's, one is Alpine Tundra and the other one is the Arctic Tundra. Th Arctic is located in the northern hemisphere circling around the North pole and extending down south toward the coniferous forests of the Taiga. The Alpine Tundra is located on mountains all across the world. High altitude were trees can't grow.

Biotic Factors (animals, plants, algae, etc. living things):
This biome has goats,birds, marmots, arctic foxes, arctic hares , caribou , ermine , lemmings , musk oxen and wolves. The fish they have are cod, flatfish , trout and salmon.
This biome has no trees. In the alpine tundra they have little scrubs or plants. The arctice tundra has grass, low scrubs and mosses and liverworks. There are thousands of species in the arctic tundra they are close to the ground
